Texas Humane Heroes

Texas Humane Heroes takes in dogs and cats from overcrowded animal shelters in the area to prevent euthanasia. Anyone ages 12+ can apply to volunteer "to help socialize the adoptable animals, learn about animal wellness, and take a burden off the staff by assisting with day-to-day care". Ages 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult, ages 16+ can volunteer independently. Apply here.

Idle Creek Farms has horses, chickens, goats, donkeys, and more. They offer camps, a farmers market twice a month, and other fun seasonal events.
Slice of Heaven Educational Farm has horses, miniature horses, donkeys, cows, goats, chickens, rabbits, sheep, pigs, cats, a hedgehog, guinea pigs, and birds. They offer camps, field trips, birthday parties, private events, and riding lessons.
