Here are Macaroni KID Killeen's picks for the top things to do in the Bell County area with kids August 26-September 1, 2024.  Click on the links and pictures for all the details!

1. Movies (Belton & Temple)

The Beltonian: Star Wars Episode VI Mon-Tues @ 6PM, Sat @ 11AM & 7PM

2. Free Kids Bowling Lessons (Temple)

Spare Time offers FREE bowling lessons for young beginners, structured as a 4-week program, meeting one day per week. 

Each lesson consists of 15 minutes of classroom instruction, followed by 45 minutes - 1 hour of practice time on the lanes. 

Lessons are offered at designated times throughout the year, normally preceding league seasons. Mon 6PM-7PM

3. 🎭 Monster Café Auditions (Temple)

Audition for Temple Civic Theatre's performances of Monster Café!

Keep both evenings available in case you are called back for the director to see more. If you are new to auditions, arrive 30 minutes before the listed audition time on the first night. Natasha Tolleson will be available to explain the audition process and answer questions.

Auditioners should prepare a song that shows their voice. 80’s or 90’s pop music would be appropriate for this audition.

***Parents… if your child is cast in a show, be prepared to volunteer for rehearsals and/or performances. Mon-Tues @ 7PM

4. Central Texas State Fair (Belton)

5. Hop Into History: A Prohibition Party! (Belton)

In partnership with Nolan Creek Brewery, you are invited to the museum speakeasy! 

Enjoy a presentation on history and brewing with free samples from Nolan Creek Brewery, music, a chance to make a stein, and more. 

1920s themed costumes are highly encouraged! Thurs 6PM-8PM

6. Sensory Friendly Morning at Bell County Museum (Belton)

Visitors and kids of all ages on the autism spectrum and with sensory sensitivities are invited to experience the museum with lower lights, softer sounds, and fun sensory friendly activities all before it opens to the public!  

Explore history, math, science, and more through fun and engaging activities. A quiet room is available for anyone who needs a brain break. Sat 8:30AM-10AM

7. Central Texas Collectors Market (Killeen) 

Discover treasures from vendors specializing in Funko Pops, comics, action figures, statues, and more. Sat 10AM-4PM

8. Lunch at the Airport (Fun Activities) (Temple)

Stop by and purchase a delicious meal from Daddy D's Burger & Grill, then stick around to enjoy a fun afternoon at the airport!

Activities Include:
Airplane Rides (Tickets can be purchased at the event- Children must be 5 years or older and minors must be accompanied by an adult)

9. Reel Rhythm Music and Film Festival (Killeen)

A festival featuring live music across various genres on two stages, a film festival with screenings of shorts, documentaries, and features, a youth performer mentor program, and a delicious food truck extravaganza. 

The goal is to not only entertain the community but also stimulate the local economy by attracting visitors and promoting local businesses. A Portion of All Proceeds will go to creating scholarships for creative students. Sat 11AM-10PM

10. Walk Our Path- MS Awareness Event (Temple

VENDORS, FOOD TRUCKS, LIVE MUSIC, LIVE SPEAKERS to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. Sat 2PM-7PM
